We are very happy to announce that Dr. Thomas D’Aunno has been selected as the new Executive Vice Dean of the Mailman School of Public Health. Dr. D’Aunno joined the faculty of the Mailman School in 2008 as a Professor of Health Policy and Management and he currently serves as the faculty Director of the Executive MPH program.
As the Executive Vice Dean, he will lead the charge to advance faculty development and diversity; research; education; service activities and programmatic initiatives. Dr. D’Aunno brings to the position 26 years of university experience in which he has held faculty and administrative positions in the schools of public health, medicine, social work and business administration. In each of these posts, he served on committees for faculty recruitment, development, and tenure and promotion. He has also served as the past chairman of the Academy of Management Division of Health Care Management where he was the recipient of the “Career Distinguished Service Award.”
Dr. D’Aunno was previously a faculty member at the University of Chicago, University of Michigan, and most recently, INSEAD, where he held an endowed position as Chairman in Healthcare Management. Dr. D’Aunno’s research and teaching expertise focuses on organization and management within health care services. His research in these areas has been funded by the National Institutes of Health and the Agency for Healthcare Quality and Research and he has published articles in leading management and health journals, including Administrative Science Quarterly; Academy of Management Review; Academy of Management Journal; the Journal of Health and Social Behavior; and the Journal of the American Medical Association.
