McCain Said To Be Considering Seat On HELP Committee
Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., is maneuvering to quit his Commerce Committee seat and take an open spot on the Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee, sources tracking healthcare legislation said today. The former Republican presidential nominee has an interest in generic or follow-on biologic drug legislation, the sources added. A HELP Committee spot will also give him a closer position to engineering of healthcare overhaul legislation. Neither McCain’s office nor the HELP Committee’s GOP office would comment.
