GNYHA, 1199 Push Back

GNYHA has partnered with 1199 SEIU to form the Healthcare Education Project, which launched a TV ad campaign advocating “fair share tax reform.” The hospital group and the union are pushing for tax hikes for New Yorkers earning more than $250,000, to “reduce enormous proposed health care budget cuts that would devastate hospitals, nursing homes and home care providers.” The ad campaign, which GNYHA says cost a substantial sum, runs statewide Dec. 17-23.

Here’s the script:  “The holidays may be a little less jolly this year, but New Yorkers can help one another by supporting one another by suppprting Fair share tax reform…which will insure that those making over $250,000 pay their fair share, so we can protect vital health care for all of us. Fair share tax reform; put it on your holiday list.”
